縄文シャワー展示室展も今年で8回目となりました。
勅使河原蒼風および草月財団の米国カーネギー賞受賞を祝し、
今回は草月流創始者である勅使河原蒼風の作品を、戦前からの高弟 尾中千草氏のコレクションを中心に、
彫刻、書、陶器、絵画など約40作品を展示します。
ハート型土偶の頭部など、縄文土器や土偶も併せてご覧いただきます。
We are pleased to announce the 8th edition of the Jomon Shower Lab Exhibition.
In celebration of Sofu Teshigahara and Sogetsu Foundation receiving the Carnegie Prize in the United States, this exhibition features works by Sofu Teshigahara, founder of the Sogetsu School, centered on the collection of Senso Onaka, one of his distinguished disciples from the prewar period. Approximately 40 works, including sculptures, calligraphy, ceramics, and paintings, will be displayed.
In addition, visitors will have the opportunity to enjoy the Jomon pottery and dogu figures, including the head of a heart-shaped dogu.

Sofu Teshigahara led postwar “avant-garde Ikebana movement” together with Houun Ohara and Yukio Nakagawa. From the 1950s through the 1970s, he actively held ikebana exhibitions and demonstrations throughout Europe and United States.
His creative activities extended beyond ikebana, and his numerous sculptures, paintings, and works of calligraphy continue to be highly acclaimed today.
Senso Onaka
1914 Born in Matsue City, Shimane Prefecture and moved to Tokyo at the age of 4.
1932 Entered the Sogetsu School of Ikebana
1961 Appointed as a Shihan Riji (member of the board of directors for instructors)
1975 Solo exhibition at the Ginza Mikimoto Gallery, Tokyo
1977 Received the Sogetsu Award
1981 Presented an ikebana demonstration as a representative of Sogetsu School of Ikebana at the 4th Ikebana International World Convention

Senso Onaka entered the Sogetsu School of Ikebana at its formative years. She conducted demonstrations and workshops throughout the world including Egypt, Canada, United States of America, Europe, former Soviet Union, East Europe, and Taiwan, and worked tirelessly to promote the Sogetsu School of Ikebana.
