森山さんの絵は優しさに包まれている。
ユーミンの歌を聴いているみたい。
森山さんは若い頃、青木繁の話を聞きたくて坂本繁二郎の家を訪ねたことがある。
坂本繁二郎が有名な画家とは知らなかったらしい。
「ねえ、おじさん」てな感じで青木繁のことを尋ねたそうだ。
そんな森山さんの好奇心は、今なお健在だ。
Moriyama’s paintings are enveloped in a gentle kindness.
It is like listening to a song by Yuming.
As a young man, he once visited the home of Hanjiro Sakamoto, hoping to hear stories about Shigeru Aoki.
Unaware that Sakamoto himself was a renowned painter, he casually asked about Aoki, saying, “Hey, Uncle…”
That same spirit of curiosity is still very much alive in Moriyama today.
森山哲和
1939年 長春で生まれる。
1964年 光風会美術研究所その他で美術を学ぶ
1978年 考古造形研究所を設立。
地層剥ぎ取り技法を確立し、日本国内のみならずイスラエルやイタリアなど世界各地の地層標本を採取し、博物館等に収蔵されている。
一方で、ライフワークとして絵画制作に取り組む。
2019年 マレーシア東方人文藝術館で個展を開催。 80歳にして初めての絵画の展覧会となった。
2019年 町田市民文学館「縄文土器をよむ」展に、自らが以前復元造形した敷石住居跡とともに、縄文人の生活風景を描いた600号の大作を出品。
2022年 資生堂 創業150周年を記念して銀座資生堂パーラーで行われたウィンドウ展示「生きる地層（Living Strata）」に地層標本を出品。
同展示は世界的空間デザイン賞「FRAME AWARDS」で部門最高賞を受賞。
Tetsukazu Moriyama
1939 Born in Changchun
1964 Study art at Kofukai Art Research Institute and other places.
1978 Establishes the Archaeological Modeling Institute
Moriyama develops a method for peeling off strata to extract geological specimens.
He has applied this technique not only in Japan but also in various parts of the world, including Israel and Italy,
with many of the specimens now held in museum collections.
In parallel, as a lifelong pursuit, Moriyama dedicates himself to paintings.
2019 Holds a solo exhibition at Oriental Art and Cultural Center in Kuala Lumpur. This is his first painting exhibition at the age of 80.
2019 At the exhibition “Reading Jomon Pottery” at the Machida City Public Museum of Literature (Kotoba Land),
Moriyama exhibits a monumental piece (canvas size: F600) depicting the everyday life of the Jomon people,
alongside slab-paved dwelling sites he previously created through restoration modeling.
2022 Moriyama exhibits geological specimens as part of the window display titled “Living Strata,” at Shiseido’s 150-year anniversary exhibition.
This display receives the Gold Prize in the “Window Display of the Year,” category at the internationally renowned FRAME AWARDS.
