丘の上APT／兒嶋画廊では真夏の「縄文シャワー展示室展」に続き、10月1日から「黒白展」を開催いたします。

この度、丘の上APT 兒嶋画廊では「黒白-Black and White」を開催いたします。
黒白の表現とは字面通り黒字に白描か、白地に墨線で描くことですが、中国の水墨山水画や岩肌に彫られた文字を墨拓した物から想を得ております。
謂わば、極端に表現を抑え二元的要素のみによって表現する行為の痕跡を指します。
自然の中ではシマウマやパンダが飛び抜けて優れているように思います。
黒い餅カビなど思い返しても、他には、なかなか、見つからないものです。
芸術の世界ではさきほど挙げた例以外には木版画やエッチングの表現世界に多く見られます。
テレビや映画も昔は白黒でしたが、そんなに際立ってコントラストが強かったわけではありません。
我が国の長い文化史を辿っても、墨蹟と水墨画に修験行者の着物ぐらいですか。
ですから、今回の展示も主に書に墨絵、モノクロ版画になってしまいます。
今回の展示は多分飾り切れないぐらいたくさんの作品があります。飾り切れないものは立てかけたり、平置きしたりになると思います。
この企画の元にあるのは、縄文世界の大先輩から、ピカソ、仙厓、善三郎を平に置いて俯瞰してみろと言われたことです。
もちろん、ピカソはゲルニカのような黒白を展示できるわけはないので、せめて、モノクロの版画です。
やって見なけりゃわからないので、とにかく並べてみようと思います。
縄文からケルト、カタルーニャ、中国、我が国まで一本の黒白の線で繋がるといいですね。

Following the “Jomon Shower Labo.” exhibition in mid-summer 2022, Gallery Kojima is pleased to present the “Black and White” exhibition.
The black-and-white expression is literally a white drawing on a black background, or a black line on a white background,
but it was inspired by Chinese ink landscape paintings and ink rubbings of characters carved on rock surfaces.
It is, so to speak, a trace of an act of expression by dualistic elements only, extremely restraining expressions.
In nature, zebras and pandas are outstanding.
When I think back, it is still hard to find it on things like black mold on rice cake.
In the world of art, it is also seen in the expression of woodblock prints and etchings in addition to the examples mentioned above.
Television and films used to be black and white, but the contrast was not that strong.
Even when we trace back the long history of Japanese culture, we find it only in Bokuseki (a Japanese term meaning “ink trace”) ,
Suiboku-ga (Ink wash painting), and the kimonos of Buddhist practitioners.
Therefore, this exhibition will be limited to mainly calligraphy, ink paintings, and black-and-white prints.
There are so many works that we probably won’t be able to display them all in this exhibition.
The ones that can’t be displayed will be displayed leaning on the walls or flat on the floor.
The reason for this was that a senior Jomon lover told me to put Picasso, Sengai, and Zenzaburo Kojima flatly and look at them from a bird’s eye view.
Of course, there is no way that I could exhibit a black-and-white work like Picasso’s Guernica, so at least it would be a black-and-white print.
You never know unless you try, so I will try to put them side by side.
I hope that a single black-and-white line will connect the Jomon, Celt, Catalan, China, and our country.
